Blue Dog PAC Launches Online & Social Media Campaign

Washington, D.C. – The Blue Dog PAC today announced that it is launching a new online and social media campaign to highlight the goals and activities of the PAC, its members, endorsed candidates, and supporters.

The Blue Dogs are relaunching their website,, as well as starting an official PAC Twitter feed (@BlueDogPAC) and Facebook page.

“We are very pleased to begin this online and social media effort to highlight the work of Blue Dogs and the core values of our Coalition: fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, and the representation of mainstream American values,” said Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT), Co-Chair of the Blue Dog PAC. “These online avenues will create a space where the millions of moderate and conservative Democrats and independent voters across the country can join together.”

The Blue Dogs will use the online efforts to communicate their moderate message directly to voters and outside of the traditional media outlets, which too often focus on the extremes of the political spectrum.

“Too many Members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, spend their time stubbornly blocking compromise and progress in order to satisfy those on the extremes of both parties,” said Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-CA), Co-Chair of the Blue Dog PAC. “Blue Dogs have always put the interests of America’s families above the interests of political parties. We’ve fought for commonsense measures to help small businesses grow, create jobs, and reduce unnecessary regulations. Through these outlets Blue Dogs will continue to show that there is a better and less divisive path forward.”

The online effort of the Blue Dogs continues the work of the moderate and conservative Democrats to expand their political and communications operations leading up to the 2012 elections.
