Washington, D.C. - Today, the Blue Dog Political Action Committee announced its endorsement of seven more strong candidates from around the country in the 2016 election cycle.
"At a time when ideology and partisanship seem to trump responsible decision making, these candidates have shown not only a willingness, but also an enthusiasm to work together," Congressman Kurt Schrader said. “These folks represent the commonsense middle ground we need in Congress; folks who actually work for and represent the majority of Americans.”
"Our candidates share Blue Dog values and dedication to public service, as well as the ability to run strong, competitive races," said Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema, Blue Dog PAC chair. "Blue Dogs have a long history of working across the aisle to solve problems and our candidates share this commitment. We need more men and women like this in Congress – the type who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get things done."
Earlier this year, the Blue Dogs threw their support to Lon Johnson (MI-1), Tom O'Halleran (AZ-1), Doug Owens (UT-4), Pete Gallego (TX-23), each of whom continues to run a strong campaign rooted in a commitment to cutting through political rhetoric and breaking congressional gridlock. Joining that list are the following seven candidates:
Lou Correa (CA-46)
Gretchen Driskell (MI-7)
Brad Schneider (IL-10)
Shelli Yoder (IN-9)
Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5)
Gail Schwartz (CO-3)
Kim Myers (NY-22)
